Peer-reviewing policy

The article review process is probably the most important part of publishing results of a sound research. A sound research design is the framework on which good quality study is built.

In order to ensure the article’s quality, all submissions to EEJPL shall undergo a peer-review process by independent referees who are knowledgeable in the pertinent subject area.

This journal uses double-blind peer review, i.e. names of referees and authors are not revealed to each other, throughout the review process. Since the reviewers do not know who the author of the article is, the article succeeds or fails on its own merit.

However, editorials, letters to the editor, book reviews, conference calls, announcements and other types of similar information don’t count as articles, so they are not refereed. Every submitted scholarly paper should contain abstract(s), introduction (literature review), methodology, results, discussion, conclusion, and references. This is a prerequisite for the article being accepted for peer-reviewing. The reviewing process usually lasts up to four months. After the manuscript has been reviewed, the editorial board will inform the author(s) about a 'blind' referee’s decision by sending a filled-out reviewer’s form via e-mail.

The reviewer’s form contains the following statements:

  • Accept outright
  • Accept with minor revisions
  • Revise and resubmit
  • Reject outright

The contributors should bear in mind that ALL scholarly articles have their strengths and weaknesses. Therefore, if the manuscript is unacceptable at this stage, but the study is promising, the referee will offer some ways how to improve it and will encourage the author(s) to resubmit the paper.
